Tribute to Fabric Building Industry Legends Philip Sprung and Frei Otto

RIP, Philip Sprung of Sprung Structures and Frei Otto

We were saddened to learn of the recent deaths of two legends in the fabric building industry: Philip Sprung and Frei Otto. Both had revolutionary ideas that changed fabric buildings and architecture, and inspired the Legacy family.

Among the innovations created by Philip Sprung and Frei Otto were the Olympiastadion in Munich and a fabric structure used to house a NASA space shuttle orbiter.

While we never met Sprung or Otto in person, everyone benefits from their early adoption of fabric as a practical building material, a source of natural light and adaptable to any conditions. We hope to build on that legacy with our next-generation fabric structures.
